DeClassified 1.12 Pre-release
Pre-release
  • Added true alpha support.
  • VU Meter is now affected by the FPS selector.
  • Fixed VU Meter options still appearing when in "Winamp 2.65 Mode".
  • Fixed Minibrowser pointing to the wrong site (trying to get to winamp.com will only get you IE script errors).
  • Fixed the background of posbar.bmp/png not always appearing on playback.

(Very belated, I know.) Ho ho ho! I haven't forgotten about this and have been hard at work fixing and adding things, but I am slowly running out of things to add... :)
Highly recommend reading "Welcome to DeClassified 1.10.txt" if you plan on using this for your own needs. (File an issue if something is unclear!)
Some cool stuff, some bugfixes, the usual, this one's a hotfix that addresses an issue that has escaped both me and my co-maintainer, but I've added the changelog from 1.10 for completeness.

  • Fixed the manual advance mode/button not working. (Thanks to @SameytheHedgehog for catching this one!) (1.11)
  • Updated the base skin to 5.x's.
  • Added the VU Meter found in WACUP.
  • Added an extra entry in classic-genex.xml for the TTF Songticker mode.
  • Added lots of tool tips found in current Winamp/WACUP versions (thanks @SameytheHedgehog!)
  • Added proper Winamp/WACUP detection for the play LED, which also makes it aware if it runs in the current public Preview build or in the beta builds.
  • Added a WACUP specific feature that would show the current bitrate and khz of a song as a tool tip, once you hover over the respective area.
  • Improved Windowshade VU Meter to now accurately resemble the falloff seen in Winamp 2.65 and below.
  • Improved Classic Skin compatibility with the Playlist Editor (specifically the visualizer).
  • Fixed the _noiso variant of eq_layers.m being severely out of date. (There are plans to unify the two where you'd only have to specify a parameter to remove the need of having two scripts that basically do the same thing.)
  • Fixed the Oscilloscope style labels being wrong in "Winamp 5.x Mode".

Mainly bugfixes this time around.

  • Added WACUP Preview build detection.
  • Related to the above, addressed an issue that occurs in the WACUP Preview and Winamp 5.666 with some of the script timers that leads to crashing for those two versions, but not the WACUP Beta builds.
  • Added the inconsistent Doublesize scaling when Winamp is detected.
  • Changed the "Main Window Settings" header to instead be called "DeClassified Settings" for future proofing.
  • Fixed the "Coloring Style" menu not appearing when "Winamp 5.x mode" is enabled in the vis settings (oopsies).
  • Fixed the Playlist Editor Visualizer appearing when "Classic Skin Compatibility" was checked and the Main Window entered it's shade mode. The script got the hint that the Main Window layout disappeared, but not that the shade mode is now present.
  • Fixed some minor spelling mistakes (primarily capitalization) in some of the action related things when "Use bitmap font for the main title display (no int. support)" was unchecked.

Not that many new things, just some fixes and overall improvements.

  • Fixed an issue where the bitrate could've displayed wrong when met with a file that has an extremely high bitrate.
  • Added a feature specific to WACUP where you can hover over the kbps and khz displays to get a tooltip, only when they're too high to display the full number!
  • When "Winamp 5.x mode" is selected in the vis menu, the play LED will not run it's extra condition of displaying RED when the file ends in about 1 second.
  • Fixed an issue where the monoster display would not blank out when playing a file with more than 2 channels.
  • Changed most timer based things to instead use the onInfoChange(..) callback function, to improve responsiveness in getting metadata.
  • Fixed an issue where re-playing a YT link in WACUP, won't make the play LED display RED when it should've from the start (this may have been an issue since the inception of the reimplementation, now finally fixed!)

No automatic python script that converts a Classic Skin to fit the DeClassified spec, I'm sorry, this does come with a demo of what you can do with DeClassified, as an example, to break free from the Classic Skin spec...

It has, again, been a while... over a month... but it's finally here.

The changes from the RC1 build to this are as follows:

  • Added an option to instead use the standard non-skinned font for the song ticker, hidden in the main window visualizer menu.
  • Moved the titlebar_font to the skin folder, so you know that you need to modify it as well.
  • Fixed the Equalizer band backgrounds not being repainted when applying a preset, or when using the Equalizer Inspector in WACUP (huge thanks to @mirzi1 for figuring that out!)
  • Fixed an issue where the kbps and khz display would display wrongly upon playback (was rare but I needed to fix this anyway as it was bothering me a lot)
  • Fixed an issue where the compatibility option wasn't always or never respected during certain playback actions as was the intention.

No automatic python script that converts a Classic Skin to fit the DeClassified spec yet, that's why 1.00 isn't here yet.

It's been a while, and I've mostly concentrated on squashing bugs and adding some new stuff that Winamp 2.x had.

What's new?

  • Songtimer and Visualizer script now has complete control over their respective objects (time display and vis objects), making them sync up their settings in real time.
  • Classic Skin Compatibility settings for the visualizer (on by default), this means that the Playlist Editor visualizer will disappear when the Main Window is visible and the Playlist Editor is stretched, when the Main Window isn't visible, then the respective vis will appear, and more...
  • Winamp 5.x and Winamp 2.65 modes (enabling the Winamp 5.x mode will make the Winamp 2.65 mode inaccessible).
  • Option to disable the play LED for a Winamp 3 like mode, even if it looks weird.
  • Basic cursor support by me and @SameytheHedgehog
  • Video window has a functioning Internet TV button (in Winamp at least...)
  • Minibrowser support by me and @SameytheHedgehog, which required taking the xml implementation of the Modern Skin browser and hacking it to make it work well with the Minibrowser.
  • Provide nowacup and noiso versions of a few scripts.
  • The shade mode of both the Playlist Editor and Equalizer now have proper doublesize support (they wouldn't previously scale up)
  • Some Classic Skin buttons where applicable, are aware of their previous on/off state, and will use the proper pressed down images.

Has it really been two weeks? Time really does fly when you're working hard on things...

  • Fully functional clutterbar!
  • Reorganized how loading of all of the base assets is done, as well as throwing the WACUP exclusive assets into it's own XML file for easier organization and editing.
  • WACUP detection was moved out of actioninfo.m into it's own file, WACUPDetect.m
  • Moved the standardframe image definition things into it's own XML file, as it should be.
  • Full support for the 5.x genex.bmp file (thank you @SameytheHedgehog for figuring that out!)
  • The little position bars in the shade mode Equalizer and shade mode Main Window now does change it's image depending on where it's at position wise (it was all eyeballed so it may not be 100% accurate)
  • Added a compatibility option for the Modern Skin visualizer to disappear when playback has stopped. By default it's enabled, but you can disable that.
  • Album art window (imported by @SameytheHedgehog)
  • An about page which serves as a nod to Quake and Half-Life (WON edition) with their consoles sliding down the screen, and as a love letter to times past, and as a thank you to a handful of people.
  • Fixed a bug where the play LED wouldn't change it's state to RED when a song was about to end (value of when it appears has also been adjusted, though that has been eyeballed as well)
  • Adjusted how the playlist editor component is sized depending on if you're using Winamp or WACUP.
  • Improved WACUP detection (the previous attempt failed for one user).

DeClassified 0.98.2 Pre-release
Pre-release

Highly recommend reading "Welcome to DeClassified 0.98.2.txt" if you plan on using this for your own needs.

This release is relatively minor compared to the previous release, though still a lot is going on under the hood.

  • Added WACUP detection. (This will change the Main Window, Equalizer, Playlist Editor and Video's background images and title bar, does not affect any of the buttons!)
  • Changed the initial starting position of the 4 default windows (Main Window, Equalizer, Playlist Editor, Media Libary) to resemble Winamp 2.9x's and up first start positions.
  • Removed support for Winamp 5.8, support for that release of Winamp was never intended nor planned.

This is a smaller release that fixes two issues and adds one feature.

  • Fixed the slider button still relying on volume.bmp, instead of relying on slider.png (thanks @SameytheHedgehog for catching and submitting a PR!)
  • Fixed the pressed state of the Video buttons being misaligned (thanks @SameytheHedgehog for catching this!)
  • Added support for the ISO Frequency mode for the Equalizer, where it'll switch to the appropriate image.
