Ruby Amazon Bedrock

Gem Version CircleCI

Seamless Integration with Amazon Bedrock API for AI-Powered Text and Image Generation in Ruby πŸ€– + πŸ’Ž. Amazon Bedrock API.

Amazon Bedrock is a fully managed service that makes FMs from leading AI startups and Amazon available via an API, so you can choose from a wide range of FMs to find the model that is best suited for your use case.

Installation

Bundler

Add the following line to your application's Gemfile:

gem "ruby-amazon-bedrock", "~> 0.2.4"

And then execute:

$ bundle install

Gem install

Or install with:

$ gem install ruby-amazon-bedrock -v 0.2.4

and require with:

require "amazon_bedrock"

Credentials

In order to use Amazon Bedrock, you'll need your secure credentials just as any other AWS service. Get your keys from AWS IAM (Identity and Access Management) https://us-east-1.console.aws.amazon.com/iam

Model access

To use Bedrock, you must request access to Bedrock's FMs. To do so, you will need to have the correct IAM Permissions. For certain models, you may first need to submit use case details before you are able to request access.

Model pricing

Be aware that by using ruby-amazon-bedrock gem in conjunction with Amazon Bedrock, you may incur costs associated with the use of Amazon Bedrock services. As the user, you are solely responsible for any and all costs that arise from your use of Amazon Bedrock. You can see more details about pricing here

Quickstart

Instantiate a client by passing your AWS IAM credentials:

client = RubyAmazonBedrock::Client.new(
  region: "AWS_REGION",
  access_key_id: "AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID",
  secret_access_key: "AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY"
)

Or copy the .env.sample to a .env file with your account's credentials and use the ENV variable. NOTE: This step is REQUIRED in order to run the tests with rspec

client = RubyAmazonBedrock::Client.new(
  region: ENV["AWS_REGION"],
  access_key_id: ENV["AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID"],
  secret_access_key: ENV["AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY"]
)

AWS Named Profiles

You can also use AWS Named Profiles by passing the profile keywoard argument. When using a named profile, specyfing the region, access_key_id and access_token won't be required.

client = RubyAmazonBedrock::Client.new(
  profile: "AWS_PROFILE"
)

Options

The options argument enhances the method's flexibility by allowing additional, model-specific configurations. If not explicitly provided, the method defaults to a set of standard Model parameters. You can see more details about a Model's optional parameters.

Model Providers

Amazon Bedrock is a fully managed service that makes FMs from leading AI startups and Amazon available via an API, so you can choose from a wide range of FMs to find the model that is best suited for your use case.
