Ability to detect and record when street or house lights are detected

Is there the ability to detect and record the occurance of when neighouring lights are detected during the night time passes.

I have a neighbour who has an industrial back light that lights up his backyard and a big section of mine that would be in the Allsky cams field of view.
I'm curious if during the night the software is able to record when and for how long that light was detected.

Not something we can do at the moment and dont have any current plans to implement it

That would make an interesting Module for someone to write. Use a mask to only look at a portion of the image, and record the mean brightness of that area.

It would but there are a lot of complications in doing it. The Moon is a good example.

If anyone fancies a go then I do have a load of code I wrote for detecting the Moon and masking it out of the image for doing star detection

Thanks for the replies.
My original thought was maybe to run the source footage in a different process after the recording as I don't need the alerts in real time, perhaps that might be easier to achieve.
