To avoid being in the dark when a bug report pops up (specifically thinking of #628 right now), it would be nice to have a tool that report potential JavaScript and Python errors and issues to a centralized location. I have had good experiences with using Sentry, but perhaps you have other tools in mind, or perhaps we are already using something that I'm not yet aware of.

With my usual caveats about being sure we stay on the holier-than-thou side of GDPR and privacy, this kind of tool sounds like a very good idea for us. I don't know anything about what's available, but am very happy to support any tool that you all agree would be helpful

With regards to that, apparently Sentry offers us the option to configure what gets sent to Sentry, and what will be ignored (not stored) when data is received in Sentry: https://sentry.io/trust/privacy/
