These notes will later be organized and placed in the appropriate page.
- A. If there is one watch time per lane, that time be placed in 'race-time'.
- B. If there are two watches for a given lane, the average will be computed and placed in 'race-time'.
- C. If there are 3 watch times for a given lane, the middle time will be placed in 'race-time'.
CASE B. NOTES:
If there is more than the 'Accepted Deviation' difference between the two watch times, the average result time will NOT be computed and warning icons will show for both watch times in this lane. The column 'Race-Time' will be empty. Switch to manual mode and select which time to use. You are permitted to select both - in which case the average of the two watch times is used.
CASE C. NOTES:
If you choose to use SCM-Automatic mode (rather than the default - DT-Automatic) then the average of the three watch times will be used. See the preference dialogue to set your chose of Automatic modes.
- one watch time per lane: deviation is 0.
- two watches per lane: deviation is the difference between the two.
- three watch per lane: deviation is ignored.
The 'Accepted Deviation' is found in the preference dialogue and by default is 0.3. (The default value as used by Dolphin Timing.) This value is given in seconds.
For three watch times per lane, a deviation from the average of the three could be calculated to qualify timekeeper watch times. To my knowledge Dolphin Timing doesn't perform this type of validation - so it hasn't been done here. (What do you think?)
First select manual mode.
To manually enter a race-time for a lane CNTRL-LMB the race-time cell. A dialogue appears asking you to enter a race-time. Then press ok. When manual race-time is enabled, an icon is displayed in the race-time cell.
To exit the manual mode perform another CNTRL-LMB. The system calculated race-time (for manual mode) will be restored.
A context sensitive RMB pop-menu is available with commands like 'manually enter race-time', etc.
