As a dedicated user of our VSCode extension for PostgreSQL, I've noticed a significant need within our organization for a feature that would greatly enhance the security and usability of the extension. Currently, our extension provides support for passwords from plain text. However, to further meet the evolving needs of our users, I propose adding support for retrieving passwords from the command line.
Given the widespread usage of our extension within our organization, I strongly believe that this feature will be a valuable addition, enhancing both security and user experience.
Feedback and contributions from the community are welcome throughout the implementation process.
Benefits
Improved security: Users can securely provide passwords without exposing them in plain text.
Enhanced usability: Users have more flexibility in how they provide passwords to the extension.
