AHK-Scripts

I keep a collection of my favorite AHK scripts that I made to automate some of the annoyances of my life and make weird UX things better.

All of the scripts require you to download AutoHotKey(AHK) on a windows machine to work. You can find the latest release at the official AHK Site.

  • URL_to_PDF simply takes a URL and makes it into a PDF. Requires Percollate.
  • EPUB_to_PDF takes in a path to a EPUB file and converts it to a PDF. Requires Calibre for its CLI tool.
  • MegaClip lets you create a temporary array of your clipboard so you can copy a lot of items from one location and then repaste them to another location without having to hop back and forth.
  • RegionWrapper is a simple script to create regions in code. Works in tandem with the Region Viewer extension in VSCode for max efficiency. Can either use a hotkey to create a region or press CapsLock + R to show a gui to select an option.

URL_to_PDF

Requires Percollate.

After you have downloaded Percollate, all you have to do for this to work is change your download location and your path to a PDF Stylesheet (percollate has a PDF template you should use or use mine that is included). From there, you simply copy the link to your clipboard, press your hotkey (default is Alt + P), and the URL is converted to a PDF. Inside the AHK file you can set if you want to have cover or table of content enabled.

EPUB_to_PDF

Requires Calibre for its CLI tool. For all of those times you need to convert an EPUB to a PDF. Simply copy the path to the EPUB file you want to convert then click Ctrl + Alt + P which will convert the file and place it in the same directory.

Figma Saver

Simple utility to save Figma shortcuts to your local files. Instead of paying for folders in figma, you can use your local file directory and keep all of your figma files in drafts instead of folders to avoid paying. Yes I am this cheap.

MegaClip

Using MegaClip is simple. By default, there are three main hotkeys: CapsLock + C which clears the MegaClip memory, Ctrl + Alt + C which store an item to the MegaClip memory, and Ctrl + Alt + V which pastes from the MegaClip keyboard. When you add an item to the clipboard, it gets placed at the end and a popover shows the text copied and the number it is placed in the MegaClip.

When you paste from the MegaClip using Ctrl + Alt + V, you paste from the beginning to the end and a popover tells you what item in memory you are in.

Once you have hit the end of the MegaClip, it cycles back to the start and runs through the whole clip again.

One of the coolest things you can do with this is have it alter the text in memory before it is pasted and it just takes a little bit of code.

Text Tiles

Text Tiles is another utility for manipulating text. Once you select some text and press your desired hotkey, a small GUI appears with different options for manipulating the text, running other scripts, etc. See the README in the text-tiles folder for more information on how to use it.
