Describe the bug

I have Tempo configured with the Data > Download storage set to External. This works fine, but the app randomly changes this option to Internal. I have to change it to External, having to download again all the albums I want to keep offline.

To Reproduce

I'm not sure when/why this happens, but I suspect it may happen on Android (re)boot. I have a theory:

  • Maybe the SD card takes some time to be detected/mounted by Android
  • Tempo starts before the SD card is mounted, and since it does not know about a SD card, changes the storage to Internal because of this

Expected behavior

The storage should remain on External.

Alternatively, it could be a nice feature being able to load the downloaded songs from a storage when switching to it. While this bug may still happen, at least we would not have to re-download the whole desired music library.

Environment

  • Android device: moto g7 plus
  • Android OS version: 12 (LineageOS 19 2022-12-27)
  • App version: 3.8.1
