rename metrics for next review round
clean-up of old code
update tests

- sync package loading with req.txt file

- clean up main directory

- update actions/cache to v4.0.2

- removed more left overs from LASSO experiment

- remove lasso tab

- add tests of clustering and PCA

- extract parts from server into dedicated functions

- make error messages more informative

- add clusterCrit as dependency
