Even-split

Our product aims to help students manage their expenses in an efficient way. When travelling in a group, keeping track of every transaction can be difficult and often leads to uneven expenditures. Our product will help manage these expenses and allow students to document their personal expenses on food, groceries, travel, etc. This will help them optimize their finances and keep a better track of their spending.

Note:- The calendar feature of our product is currently in its prototype stage, and we plan to integrate it with the expenses management feature in the future. It will serve as an integrated platform that displays the academic timetable and events and expenses of all clubs and societies, allowing students to schedule their day efficiently and avoid any clashes between events.

Prerequisites

To use this application, you need to have node.js and npm installed on your local machine.

How to get Started?

First, Clone the repository on your local machine using git clone https://github.com/Cs-253-Team-4/Cs-253-Team-4-Evensplit.git, then run the following commands:

1. Open a terminal in the main directory, backend directory, and frontend directory.
2. In the main directory, run npm install to install the project dependencies.
3. In the backend directory, run npm install to install the server dependencies.
4. In the frontend directory, run npm install to install the client dependencies.
5. In the backend directory, start the server by running node .\index.js in the terminal.
6. In the frontend directory, start the client by running npm run dev in the terminal.
7. The website will open on http://localhost:3000 in your default browser.

Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.
