I know this has been addressed in the issue linked above, however it was tagged as completed with the response
"Glitch was fixed by Mojang. Now its still the best rtx pack"
I am still having this issue with the latest version of minecraft and the latest version of Vanilla-RTX. It was working fine and then suddenly stopped rendering skins for seemingly no reason.

Hi, this can still happen if you mess around with ray tracing button.
To avoid facing it again make sure ray tracing is always turned on, even before joining worlds.
This and a few other issues are tied to turning ray tracing on/off frequently especially when you have already joined a world or server.

LOL yeah dynamically enabling and disabling RTX can sometimes mess it up. The memory needs to be hard cleared and loaded again, that is the only thing that guarantees it might work. I think turning it on or off during a game makes it modify existing stuff instead of reloading it.
