title: "New Featured Artist: Pandize" | ||
date: 2024-03-09 19:30:00 +0000 | ||
--- | ||
Another week, another Featured Artist. Welcome **Pandize** to our collection! | ||
![](https://assets.ppy.sh/artists/405/header.jpg?1) | ||
Not to be confused with [Panda Eyes](https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmaps/artists/55), **Pandize** is an American producer who you might've come across for reasons beyond their music. Like all of you (probably), [Pandize is an osu! player](https://osu.ppy.sh/users/5490937) who's taken the next step in the rhythm game scene: producing their own music! | ||
[Pegboard Nerds](https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmaps/artists/287), [Teminite](https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmaps/artists/64), and [Tokyo Machine](https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmaps/artists/276) were just a few of the names responsible for inspiring **Pandize**'s composition style — a style that's been under construction since he started making music in 2012. | ||
Enough stalling. We've snagged **6** stellar tracks, which you can unsurprisingly find on [**Pandize**'s Featured Artist listing](https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmaps/artists/405)! | ||

If you're wondering what to do with all of this info, there's only one option: [download one of the pre-timed beatmap templates](https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmaps/artists/405) and start mapping. If you try anything else, you'll obviously be missing out. | ||
Stay tuned for next week's artist. We'll see you then. | ||

title: "osu!(lazer) Updates: March 11, 2024" | ||
date: 2024-03-11 19:00:00 +0000 | ||
--- | ||
Medals? New hitsounds? Better storyboard performance? Read all about it here! | ||

If you are not interested in *just reading* about the latest updates, you can always find a video digest of the following updates below! | ||

### Smaller changes | ||
- **osu! file associations work now.** You can double click beatmaps, skins, etc. to open them in osu!(lazer). | ||
- **Beatmap difficulty information when hovering a beatmap in a multiplayer or playlist lobby.** Another feature from osu!(stable) that was missing until now. | ||
- **The F grade is updated to match website designs.** You can now fail in a more fabulous fashion. | ||
- **Fixed main menu eating keys if user presses too fast.** osu! can now keep up with your TAS-level menuing skills. | ||
- **User statistics updates now show on multiplayer and playlist results screen.** Did you know you can earn pp and gain ranks even in multiplayer? It turns out the client didn't, but now it does. | ||
- **Various stable parity tweaks.** Varying from visual to gameplay changes, the devs put in some extra work to make sure lazer matches stable to (mostly) pixel- and frame-perfect precision. | ||
- **Various performance improvements, especially for intense storyboards.** These have been spearheaded by [EVAST](https://osu.ppy.sh/users/8195163), and there are more improvements in the pipeline already! | ||
- **New main menu navigation hotkeys.** Similar to stable, you will now be able to use hotkeys to quickly get to your desired destination. For example: | ||
- `P` (x3) for song select (you could already do this) | ||
- `E` (x3) for the beatmap editor | ||
- `E` (x2) + `S` for the skin editor | ||
- `M` (x3) for multiplayer | ||
- `L` (x3) for playlists | ||
- `S` (x2) for settings | ||
- **The "argon" skin now includes a performance point counter by default.** This mirrors the "triangles" skin. | ||
### Achieved medals are now displayed in osu!(lazer) | ||
Medals when? Right now! All medals (except Hush-Hush ones) are now achievable on lazer, complete with all the familiar fanfare. | ||
See how that looks like in the video below: | ||

</div> | ||
### The default argon skin now has redesigned hitsounds | ||
The argon skin now has received brand-new hitsounds masterfully crafted by the one and only [nekodex](https://osu.ppy.sh/users/102)! Sit back, put some headphones on, and enjoy the showcase video below. | ||

As always, the full [changelog](https://osu.ppy.sh/home/changelog/lazer/2024.312.0) lists all changes, including the smallest ones. | ||
If you are the type of person who likes to experience cutting-edge technology, why not go beyond that and [experience osu!(lazer)](https://osu.ppy.sh/home/download)? After all, lasers are sharper than any cutting edge. | ||
