Driver Grabber

This tools give a quick way of grabbing drivers from domain joined devices. This will not include all unnecessary file the vendor driver packages usually include to bloat the size of a driver package. Check the prerequisites before continuing.

  1. Navigate to the ConfigMgr Console. If not already running, click Start, type Configuration Manager Console, and click the Configuration Manager Console icon.

  2. Click Assets and Compliance, click Devices, right click a device, and select Quick Tools -> Driver Grabber.

NB! This wizard connects to the remote device WMI and admin$ file share. If the WMI service is not started or a firewall rule blocks the connection, an error will be displayed.

  1. If Source and Package folders are not configured, click the options button and specify the locations.

  1. Click Next, if the connections are valid click Next to continue.

  2. Select the drivers to grab, check the capture destination, and then click Next.

NB! Microsoft drivers are excluded. If you are trying to capture Surface drivers, use the built in ConfigMgr Surface patching instead.

  1. Click on Next repeatedly, and then click Close.

The captured drivers can now be imported with the Driver Package Manager.
