Incremental Collections
This tools give a quick overview of all incremental collections in ConfigMgr and give the options to disable incremental updates on selected collections.
I cannot emphasise the amount of clients I been to where it takes more than 20 minutes to add a device to a collections. The root cause is usually funky queries and way, way, way, way, (did I say way) to many incremental collections.
-
Navigate to the ConfigMgr Console. If not already running, click Start, type Configuration Manager Console, and click the Configuration Manager Console icon.
-
Click Assets and Compliance, right click Device Collections, and select Quick Tools -> Incremental Collections.
-
On the Select Collections page, select the collections to disabled incremental updates for, and then click Next.
NB! Use the Find Query Collection button to find collections with queries. If a collection does not have a query there is not really any point to have it as incremental. Best practise is to have as few as possible and question yourself does this collection really need to update it content every 15 min? If not just use the regular daily schedule.
- Click on Next repeatedly, and then click Close.
