12Bar receives another great update with more refinements and enhancements to the new menu popup, lots of behind the scenes fixes, and the ability to change your search provider!

• Menu popup:
  • Revised design inspired by Windows 11’s Settings app
  • Your username and 12Bar app version are now front and center
  • Expanding/collapsing settings headers with item counts for each section
  • Whenever you expand a group, any other open ones collapse
• Alternate search provider
  • This update adds the ability to change what clicking the search area does. You can select from the following options (with more to be added upon request)
    • Default/Disabled (Simulate Win+S)
    • Alternate/Enabled (Simulate Alt+Space)

Changed:

• Menu popup:
  • You can now click your user image (in the popup) to open your Windows user account settings
  • Quick settings no longer have labels, but continue to work the same (you can still ctrl+refresh button for devtools)
  • Added a small warning to relevant options that clicking will restart 12Bar
• Reworked the cross-process keyTap event to a single send/receiver rather than one for each modifier. This means little for you the user, but it should make some actions within 12Bar feel more responsive.

Fixed:

• Fixed a bug that broke the listener for display-metrics. This prevented the app from moving back to it’s original location if it was moved by Windows. 12Bar should resume staying out of the way of your work!

Yet another fixup update! Not a lot of major changes, but some nice enhancements.
Notable: This build FINALLY fixes the dreaded system prompt bug, where 12Bar would crash when a UAC dialog, login window, or a handful of other system components were displayed. 12Bar should now continue running properly when such windows appear!

• mainBar Contrast:
  • On lighter backgrounds, the mainBar (middle search/app area) will have a slight drop shadow for better visibility
  • When using the dark theme, the mainBar will no longer be pure black, again for better visibility against dark backgrounds

Fixed:

• 12Bar should now no longer crash when UAC or other system windows (screen saver, lock screen, etc) appear
• The network icon should now no longer show "1.8x" on ethernet-enabled devices, and should now appear on more systems where it previously wouldn’t

This is a more foundational/feature-fix update. This update fixes a few bugs with coloring and rendering, as well as introduces a new ‘menu popup’ that allows you instant access to both Windows’ and 12Bar’s settings from anywhere.

New day, new update! Lots of general fixes and adjustments in this one, including the new volume icon in the status area!

• Volume icon!
  The volume icon will now appear in the status area and react to volume changes. If you have any issues, screenshot+report! 😀
• Simple reset
  If you’re having issues with 12Bar, or if it’s not running correctly, you can now Ctrl+Click the new Reset button in the options popup to completely clear and refresh the app.

• The battery icon has been switched to Segoe Fluent Icons for better consistency with Windows
• Search icon updates:

  • This release (and all future releases) of 12Bar has a 1-click setup executable that will install 12Bar to your machine. Each update, you can run the new setup executable to update all the relevant components!
  • Update: Thanks to a suggestion from the WCH server, I'm now including the 'unpacked' .zip of the app along with the setup executable. You can choose whichever version you wish!
• Weather
  • No longer requires an API key! Use the app and view weather with no input required

• Many of the functions previously within the main BrowserWindow function have been moved out in order to improve launch times and overall performance. Both opening and using 12bar should be snappier and more performant!

Bugs:

• The new weather provider may show incorrect or missing info. PLEASE report this with screenshots if possible!
• Interacting with the Windows shell (Start, taskbar, etc) can sometime cause the app label+icon to disappear. This may also happen when opening File Explorer from the desktop. Click into and out of another app to temporarily solve this issue.

This is a download and run package, no install required! Run the 12Bar.exe file to get started!

• The multibar may show incorrect or blank application info (icon, name, title)
  • It really tends to struggle with Metro apps, including the Store, and sometimes Settings
  • If any info is incorrect, and you’re able to, screenshot it and send it to me!
• The background fill option is manual for now; dynamic mode is coming soon!
• The battery status icon may take a few seconds to update after charging or percentage changes
