So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish

👋 Hey there!
It has been 3 years since eDEX's initial 1.0 release. Since then, 16 updates have been released with the help of 46 contributors, and they have been downloaded about 400 000 times (:exploding_head:!).
Last year I opened this issue to gather support (both moral and financial) to fund maintenance, as I was a student with little resources for a project of this size. Thanks to sponsorships and the generous donations of some of you I've been able to keep the project on life support.
This summer I dropped out to become a full-time software eng, and I feel it is time to re-assess the situation.
eDEX-UI will now be archived as I will move on to other projects.
The codebase has been in dire need of a fresh refactoring for some time now, and considering the limited usefulness of the software (I like to think of it as a functional art project), I think this is the best decision to go forward.
I want to thank every person who has ever contributed to, starred, liked, tried out, crashed and bugsquashed eDEX-UI. We had a really good run and lots of fun.
Keep cool ✌️

Thanks to GitHub Sponsors and the Bytes sponsorship, I've been able to upgrade the project from unmaintained to maintenance mode. What this means:
Please read on for more info.
Hello there 👋
I'm submitting & pinning this issue because I still see a lot of traffic to this repository and I want to make sure everyone interested is aware of its current status (especially before submitting new issues).
Questions, Answered
Is this project currently maintained?
Yes. The codebase would very much need a rewrite, but the project is currently in maintenance mode, which means it's kept alive and issues are triaged and fixed whenever possible. Don't expect new features, though.
So is it abandoned?
No. I'm still very fond of eDEX and would love to work on it again. Sadly, it does not pay enough bills to justify the time I need to throw at it, so until I'm more in the green, don't expect much.

Should I submit a new issue?
Sure! If it's possible to fix them without rewriting everything, I will try to.
Should I submit new ideas?
Yes! Seeing new great ideas for this software submitted here from time to times is probably the reason why I haven't completely dropped it yet.
Moreover, if there's ever going to be a rewrite, more ideas will make it even better than the current version!
Please search through the Ideas section of the Discussions tab first.
