In my opinion, it would be great not to have the possibility to like samples so that people can focus on the content quality and not the number of likes ; otherwise, it could be really hard for some new user to be visible on the platform. One user could see the number of downloads for each of its samples, but those numbers wouldn't be displayed to others. The only « number » that could be visible is the « Participation score » ; this number illustrates how a user gives to the community, regardless of the number of likes it could get from its samples or their number of downloads.
It is possible that the number of downloads could be taken into account when displaying search results, but the most important value to take into account is the « Participation score » ; this would be a sort of reward to the users that give a lot to the community.
