Comment highlighting does not work

I've seen that in the preview comments, such as:

\begin{comment}
test
\end{comment}

are highlighted. However, for me, this does not work. Is there any known bug or setting to turn this on :)?

Where did you see that the comment environment is supposed to be highlighted as a comment? It doesn't work for me either.
Actually it doesn't really matter, if it worked before then it's a bug and otherwise a feature request, so I'll go convert this into an issue. [Edit] Hm looks like GitHub doesn't work like that. Could you please create an issue?

Though on second thought, I think the only reason to use the comment environment is because you still want the inside contents to look and behave like LaTeX (autocompletion, indentation etc), because otherwise you could just select all the lines you want to comment and hit Ctrl+/ or whatever shortcut you have. But if we would make the environment contents an actual comment, this is exactly what you wouldn't want, so is this a good idea after all?

For me, it is just very uncluttered if my comments (in which I often copy text) are not highlighted differently.

Hm that's true, copying multiline text from a comment environment is definitely easier.

Ah I see, then I guess it worked before and it's a bug. If you could create an issue with that info that would be appreciated
