Turn off curly corrections

How do I turn off the curly red underlined suggested corrections?

I use combined Dutch / English dictionary for writing text. The underlined red curly corrections only check English. So if I'm writing in Dutch all words are underlined. Is there a setting to fix this of turn these corrections completely off?

You can set the spell checker in System (not HeliBoard) Settings -> System -> Languages -> Advanced -> Spell Checker. The exact location may vary with exact Android version.
Here you can also set the app doing the spell check.

🤔 There is the problem.

I use GrapheneOS. It has no option to change the Spell Checker. Probably because there is none installed. Folks at GOS suggested to install Gboard. But I'm allergic to Google products 🤢. World domination doesn't sound that great to me.

Is it possible to implement an option in Heliboard to disable the Spell Checker?

Yes it does. On GrapheneOS it's under Settings > System > Keyboard > Spell Checker

Nope. Buy after installation of gboard it's suddenly there. The funny thing is that after removal of Gboard the option stays available.

That sounds like a weird bug to me... maybe it's related to "something" gboard does, or possibly different details in the manifest.
