Can't figure out how to save "custom" words

This might be a dumb question; I'm trying to add my own spellings of the words or some slang words for the autocorrect. But for the life of me, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I have a Samsung phone running One Ui 6.1 (Android 14) and Heliboard version 2.2.

I mainly use Finnish, but often require English words, so I've setup multilingual typing like this:

This is an example situation:

I want the keyboard to remember this exact spelling of the word "järkee". What do I need to do to achieve that?

Simply go to the Text Correction section and click on Personal Dictionary.
Finally, click on Add a word.

Note: words added to this personal dictionary are added to the device's personal dictionary; not to Heliboard. This means that if you change devices, you need to export the device's personal dictionary with a third-party application.

Hey, I think I phrased my question wrong. I know how to add words to my personal dictionary via Heliboard or directly from Samsung's settings.

I wanted to know if I can add my own words to autocorrect straight from the "keyboard interface". I'm coming from Gboard, and with that, you add custom words straight from the suggestion bar.

Like if you press any of these words, it would be added to the dictionary. But as you can see, Heliboard doesn't even suggest the word I've written.

Sorry, I misunderstood 😅

From the suggestion bar, you can have the words you enter suggested, but they won't be added to your personal dictionary.
To have them suggested, you need to select them several times (3 times if I remember correctly).
After a while, they will be suggested when you start typing the word.
