I'm excited to be building a keyboard app using your amazing open-source library
To get started, I'd appreciate some guidance on setting up my codebase. Here are my questions:

Recommended Setup: Do you have any recommendations on how to structure my codebase to integrate your library seamlessly for a keyboard app?
Fork vs. Dependency: Should I fork the repository to start development, or is there an alternative approach like using a live Maven repository or pre-built JAR file?
I've reviewed the documentation (mention specific resources if available), but any additional insights you can provide would be incredibly helpful.

I don't understand. The library part, that is the C++ code that compiles into libjni_latinime.so, is almost unchanged to AOSP keyboard.
As you previously asked about swipe gestures (I still don't know whether you mean the swipe actions or gesture typing): Gesture typing is only possible when you replace the library with a proprietary one (see the readme).
