Catapult Devnet - A network for developers

Note: This is an experimental network that may be subject to occasional restarts and interruptions.

This repo contains the settings, nemesis block information, and deployment needed for the Catapult community testnet. As more information is decided (explanations behind the settings of this network), this repo will be added to as the testnet progresses.

This network contains a few pumped up values, most notably the amount of cosignatories in multisignature accounts and more transactions per aggregate transaction.

The node configured launches a dual node, meaning it has both Peer and Api roles.

General Info

Node List:

Prerequisites

Hosting

I recommend using DigitalOcean. Using this link, you can have $100 worth of credit for 60 days, meaning you can run nodes without spending anything up front. It also gives me a referral, which in turn allows me to upkeep the beacon nodes, faucet, etc:

Running

To run your node, fill out the config.json found in the base of this repo. Please ensure that you use PUBLIC-TEST or keccak-hashed public keys:

{
    "harvesterKey": "",
    "harvesterVrfKey": "",
    "nodeName": ""
}

Once this is done, run:

python config.py

Generate the certificates:

bash utils/generate_certificate.sh

And, finally:

bash start.sh

Update

If an update to this repo occurs, you can run bash utils/update.sh from the root of this repo to easily update to the newest version while still keeping your config in place.

Catapult Dependencies

The directory catapult-deps/ contains a Docker configuration for installing and compiling Catapult and its dependencies into one image. Currently, this image is pre-built and used to run Catapult as per the Dockerfile in core-node/. To build this image yourself is simple:

cd catapult-deps/
docker build -t catapult-deps .

Then, make sure to use this as your builder in core-node/Dockerfile

- FROM crackthecode01/catapult-deps:latest as builder
+ FROM catapult-deps as builder
