Islandora 7.x-1.3 release updates (Nick & Melissa)

• Deadline was April 24 (Thurs.).

• Things are pretty close to ready, Nick and Melissa did a documentation sprint.

• Nick updated gsearch documentation.

• Two major bugs yet to be resolved

• Melissa will schedule a release conference call on Monday April 28th

• VM seems pretty good.

  • Put demo content in Sandbox and VM will have no demo data.
  • Turn off some blocks (ie islandora sync).
  • Some content types and taxonomies should be deleted.

• Islandora Sync

  • Kristian created a tutorial
  • Code has not been updated since March 15th
  • Will put beta tag on Sync module
  • Move Kristian's docs to Islandora wiki, Nick will ask Kristian if we can copy paste his docs.

• Nick and Melissa will send out communication saying release is pushed back to May 2nd.

• Islandora sandbox to be hosted by UPEI. Sandbox and VM will be different for this release.

• ssh port for vm is 2222

• vm will be downloadable from islandora.ca, Nick will put some documentation on the islandora.ca site re ssh etc.

• MJ is willing to release the chef scripts to Islandora. We just need to go through the process

• Preservation Interest Group (Donald)

  • Lots of interest - Nick, Mark J and Donald started the group
  • Initial emails have been sent to the list announcing the group.
  • will create a github repo in the Islandora organization
  • Nick will create the github repo and add members (after the release is done). Nick will come up with a name and we will use that as pattern going forward

• Islandora/Fedora 4 Alpha Project

  • Review draft document
    • David and Melissa will sync the release of the Fedora 4 interest group message and the release of Fedora 4 alpha document.

    • Donald is looking at existing counters as examples.
    • Kirsta - do we want a central group to host the stats?
    • Google analytics is an option.
    • Needs some more thought will put on a future agenda and possibly create an interest group.

• Chairs will have to create the agenda going forward.

• Crowdfunding possibilities - modules and tools to develop? (Mark, Kirsta, Melissa) * Use to develop some things that may not otherwise get developed. If a few institutions wanted something they could each contribute funds. * identify small pieces then organize around that. Need timelines and funding must be met before anyone has to commit.
  * Linked open data if it can be scoped out it would be an interesting starting point.
  * Kirsta will create a google doc where we can add ideas we will review the document next meeting.
