- Query Registry Module
- This module helps centrally configure queries via hooks.
- Original JIRA ticket
- Currently, SPARQL queries are hard-coded into Islandora in several places throughout various modules to provide things like lists of objects. This hard-ties us to several things - most importantly driving a huge chunk of the site display through the triplestore.
- Intended to accelerate development and improve page load times
- It's a facilitory piece.
- Nick: where do you want this to go? Labs or Islandora? Not sure the issues this addresses are known?
- Diego: is there a way to see improved performance for this? is there a way to facilitate testing?
- Examples in module that show how the API Works
- As submodules
- Examples in module that show how the API Works
- Melissa: all the pieces are in place in the README, but it doesn't really explain what this does
- David agrees
- Mark: About LSAP documentation. The TRAVIS-CI documenation is vague. Can we address this?
- Will: This is a module that helps build things. Can't make and accept pull requests around this until this is addressed / accepted.
- Nick: I think this is going to ask a lot of community to have this ready for the 7.x-1.9 release.
- Danny: Is there a low hanging fruit query that can show what this would do in a production environment?
- Will: I will look for one.
- Diego: Why was this done as a separate module rather than against the existing API?
- Will: Use in Islandora can be optional.
- Diego: Has concerns about getting this in for 7.x-1.9
- Mark Jordan: Anything in labs that could facilitate testing?
- Will: Doesn't want to go that route. Will close pull request.
- Will: Is there a way to change our process so that things can be born out of the Foundation?
- Nick: Labs is a great place to collaborate on some things.
- David: Fedora 4 github organizations
- Melissa will send Rosie this link.
- David: Fedora 4 github organizations
- Nick would like to see more than 1 maintainer on this.
- Diego: how many modules can we manage? We don't have that many full time committers.
- Mark J.: good topic, but maybe focus on closing this and moving forward.
