The T3 RPi Image is a pre-built Raspberry Pi operating system image that includes all the required tools and applications for the T3 Alliance curriculum. The T3 Alliance is a nonprofit organization that provides free coding education and resources to underrepresented communities.
The T3 RPi Image includes the following features:
- Pre-installed and pre-configured programming tools, including Python 3, Node.js, NodeRed, PiShrink, RPi Imager, Thonny IDE, VSCode and all of the NodeRed pallet nodes needed for the T3 Curriculum.
- Automatic network configuration to enable easy access to the Raspberry Pi from other devices on the RPi network.
- Access to the T3 Alliance curriculum and resources.
- Custom Spash Screen
To use the T3 RPi Image, you will need the following:
- A Raspberry Pi 4 or later model.
- An SD card with a capacity of at least 16GB.
- A computer with an SD card reader.
- A network connection.
To install the T3 RPi Image, follow these steps:
- Download the latest version of the T3 RPi Image from this page (at the bottom).
- Insert the SD card into your computer's SD card reader.
- Use a tool like balenaEtcher to flash the T3 RPi Image to the SD card.
- Insert the SD card into your Raspberry Pi and power it on.
Once the Raspberry Pi has booted up, it will automatically connect to the network (if there is a RPi network nearby) and obtain an IP address. You can then access the Raspberry Pi's desktop environment by connecting to it using SSH or RealVNC.
To access the T3 Alliance curriculum and resources, simply open a web browser and navigate to the T3 Alliance website which is bookmarked in Chromium.
