What Is It?

The Junos Telemetry Interface (JTC) is a scaleable, push mechanism used to support the monitoring of thousands of objects in a network. It supports two data models: an open and extensible data model defined by Juniper Network, and an OpenConfig data model that generates data as a GPB messages in a universal key/value format.

Why People Use It?

• Need to gather operational statistics for monitoring the health of the network.
• To scale beyond the traditional pull models like SNMP and CLI.
