Managing Votes
Click the Manage Votes...
button in the main window to open the Manage Votes window once you have run a tally.
The window provides two sets of lists. Each of the top list boxes is a list of the currently tallied votes, and the list boxes below them provide the list of voters for the vote that is currently selected in list box above it.
Within this window you can perform a number of 'housecleaning' tasks in order to make the final tally output more meaningful or tidy.
If the vote contains ranked votes (via the Allow Ranked Votes
option), you may switch between ranked votes and normal votes, since they are recorded and treated separately.
When you close the Manage Votes
window, the main window will update with any revisions.
Anything that causes a re-tally, including changing vote partitioning, will erase any choices made in the Manage Votes
window. However changing the display mode will not affect any modifications that you have made.
Select a vote from the From
and To
list boxes. As long as they are not the same vote, you may then click the arrow button between the two list boxes to merge the voters that voted for the vote on the left side into the vote selected on the right. The merged vote will then disappear.
Ranked votes are listed without their ranking. When merging ranked votes, every instance of the 'from' vote will be merged with its respective ranked version of the 'to' vote.
Select a vote from the From
and To
list boxes. At the bottom of the window, where you see the voters supporting each vote, you may select a voter on the righthand side (the To
column) and hit the arrow between the list boxes to perform a voter merge.
A voter merge applies to all voters in the lefthand box. They are adjusted such that, rather than all the votes they previously supported, they now support all votes that are supported by the voter that was selected on the right.
This is primarily for managing partitioned votes, where the support on the lefthand side (such as using a pseudonym for a particular player) needs to be broken up into all the partitioned elements of a specific target voter.
If you select the same vote on both the left and righthand column, you may delete that vote from the tally entirely. This can be used to clean up joke votes, or votes for things that don't belong in the current tally (such as a spurious vote that ended up within the selected post range).
Any selected vote may also have its task modified — either adding a new task, deleting a task, or changing it to something else.
This allows you to specify the task each vote should be grouped with, without needing the users to add such details in their own votes.
Right-clicking on a vote in one of the two vote lists will bring up a context menu. You can define a new task (which will bring up an input box for you to write in), clear the task of the currently selected vote, or select an existing, known task to be applied to the currently selected vote.
Tasks that you added manually will be retained even if you change partitioning modes (though you'll still have to re-apply them to the newly-partitioned votes), or re-run the tally, but will be cleared if you change the selected quest.
If you right click on one of the vote windows to bring up the tasks context menu, one of the options is Re-Order Tasks
. This provides a window where you can move the tasks up and down in a list, and the final tally output will list the tasks in that same order.
