Can you please point us to the documentation that explains this new setting? Is it for our customers to be able to logon to the customer portal and manage their sessions?

Indeed, this new feature was announced here https://netlicensing.io/wiki/changelog#manage-nodes-sessions-and-aliases-via-customer-portal and empowers customers by allowing them to efficiently manage their sessions/nodes for both Node-Locked and Floating licensing models via the NetLicensing Customer Portal. In this case, no vendor assistance in releasing the session is necessary, as customers can perform this action by themselves without any support. This feature becomes available once a specific option is enabled in the License view.

Please Note: The ability to release the session/nodes may be potentially misused by the customer, so we strongly recommend revisiting the use-case, customer segments, and behavior, and enabling this feature for verified scenarios only.
