Search UI sometimes doesn't instantiate correctly

There is a sporadic problem where the search UI doesn't build itself correctly. Screenshot coming from Georgiana...

After consultation with Darcy, this seems to have been a fleeting effect caused by an old state of the Bento application - so it may not be an active problem. However, it is still worth investigating how the search UI behaves when something goes wrong so I'm going to leave this open for at least a while. Maybe this is something that Hattie can look at...
