<accidental> is common in music notation software such as Finale and MuseScore while exporting files to MusicXML format. Because natural symbol (♮) can't be displayed by simply setting <alter> to 0, that is especially useful in this case. The implementation of <accidental> is independent of <accidental-mark> in spanners.py.
