Hello there,

given the dearth of FOSS applications to trip planning, I accidentally stumbled upon yours. Some of the features like budgeting are quite interesting, in fact.

However, transportation is a bit problematic: especially for leisure trips, you can have several segments in the same day.
Example: go to city A, want to see location B from the lodging, then move from B to C to see something else.

Having this would help the planner in:

a. Figuring out the actual costs of transport (one never knows...)
b. Plan time more effectively.

Given the way the UI is arranged I'm not sure it's doable, but I thought it might be useful to let you know.

Hi!
Thank you for your interest in my project and I am glad that you mentioned this. For now, you can add different transportaion in the same day by doing this:

tutorial

However, it is true that you cannot easily link the cost for each transportation to budget now. I will push update for that in the near future(after I'm done with my Midterm haha) and let you know!

In addition to that,, could you provide me more information on your second point "Plan time more effectively"? It would be a great help if you could elaborate more!

Thank you!

Bests,

MohaElder

Thanks for the explanation. Somehow I didn't grasp that I could do like that

As for my second point: before the... er, current issues of the past two years I used to do a "big" trip once per year. By planning time I mean taking into account how much stuff you have to take to reach whatever destination you want to go to, and in how much time.

Example: in 2016 I was in Nagoya and I wanted to see whether a particular place was reachable. By looking through the rest of the activities and then calculating the time needed for transport, I reached the conclusion that it was impossible to go there before closing time, so that particular place was scrapped.

Granted, I enjoy doing that so perhaps I over-engineered the whole thing, but IMO it's useful when you're past the notes stage and in the planning stage.

Thank you for your suggestion! It's very substantial and useful for this project~

"Somehow I didn't grasp that I could do like that" - I think the project does not provide a very intuitive user experience for now! I will come up with something that refines this issue.

I think your idea for the second point is really interesting and useful! Indeed, when I was planning many of my trips I encouter the same issue too! It does not sound like over-engineering to me at all! I think this feature would definitely contribute greatly to trip planning. I will think about how to achieve it and work on it in the near future! Thank you so much for the feedback. I will close this issue when I resolved the two points that you mentiond :)

P.S: Nagoya has really good chicken karaage 唐揚げ! If you didn't try it in Nagoya make sure to try it out next time you're there haha
