Installing the Scratch Offline Editor

For Windows and Mac users, go to the Scratch download page, and follow the installation directions for your operating system.

Linux installations of Scratch as of late (March 2018) have been unsuccessful for both 32 and 64 bit versions of Linux.

You can try the following, which may work for you:

For Linux users, the instructions on the Scratch download page are incorrect. Go to this link and follow the instructions. The instructions mention that you need to go another page for 64 bit linux, but using Ubuntu, I found the instructions to be correct for both 32 and 64 bit versions.

When installing, accept the default installation location.
