  • Suffix for wet constituents should be “wrt_moist_air_and_condensed_water” rather than “wrt_total_mass”

• Add misc atmosphere variables (#71)

  • Cheryl: rules have both “surface_” and “_at_surface” as options
  • Dustin: ALSO: surface is lowest model interface, there’s also a lowest model layer
  • Dom: suggests graphic in rules explaining what “interface”, “layer”, and “surface” mean
    • Dustin will make it!
  • Should we use the prefix or suffix?
    • Suffix is more consistent with the other rules for vertical levels
    • Prefix is consistent with CF conventions
  • General agreement with using the suffix “*_at_surface”
    • Dom opened PR for the rules change - can iterate on the PR

Discussion

• Dustin: SCM capgen effort - Hopefully will push up current state soon for collaboration
