GEGL is the engine that powers GIMP it is capable of advance non-destructive filters like this

Would it be possible to integrate GEGL into Natron's video compositing for non-destructive special effects? please consider.

GEGL needs to enter the high quality video editing realm and bring libre graphics forward

Anyone can make an OpenFX plugin that uses GEGL if they feel like it.

To be honest I don't see the need as GEGL don't offer anything new.

How would the openFX route work? My GIMP plugins show how far GEGL is capable of going, it apparently has a natural strength at doing "fancy text".
