How does the app work? Can I get banned?
The application works in the following way. The principle of operation is very similar to ACT. The app reads memory at specific addresses. For chat, we read the chatlog. For the plot, we read - bubbles. The app does not modify or replace game files. We do not store user information. The app is an intermediary between the game and translation engines(ex. Google Translate, DeepL, Papago, etc.).
Tataru Helper is impossible to track. FFXIV does not check your ingame injection or scan your system processes. For ACT, you can be banned if you shame other people by pointing out their DPS. Using Tataru Helper will not differ from the usual situation - you copied the text, translated it in Google Translate, copied the response and inserted it in a group chat. This way you won't be able to get banned. At least no one has succeeded yet.

What can the app translate?
The app translates all text that ends up in the chatlog, story dialogues in bubbles, and cutscenes.

Which version of the game is suitable for this app?
A Tataru Helper is only available for global client (EU/NA/JP).

No, the application is created exclusively for the Windows x64 platform.

My app doesn't work!/The app doesn’t work properly! What to do?
We have several solutions for this problem. You need to understand the symptoms of your problem.

I can't install the app.
You may have an antivirus or other application installed on your computer that blocks installation. Delete this app, or turn it off (but this doesn't help with some antivirus programs), or add the app to exceptions.

If you have a KERNEL32.dll error - you should install Windows Update (KB2533623). In fact, the correct solution is to install ALL available Windows updates.

Incorrect version of Windows/FFXIV.
Make sure that you have installed Windows 7 x64 or later (x64 systems only). And the running game works in DirectX 11 and x64 mode.

Patch day.
Perhaps FFXIV released a patch and we just didn't have time to fix everything. Be patient and follow the information in the #📢announcements channel.

FFXIV process not found. But my game is running in DirectX 11 mode!
There are several solutions.

Missed JSON files.
You need to go to the application folder at %LocalAppData%\TataruHelper. Open the folder with the latest version of the app (app-%number%). There should be 4 *.json files. If there are fewer of them, let us know and we will help you.

Antivirus.
You may have an antivirus or other application installed on your computer that blocks the app. Delete this app, or turn it off (but this doesn't help with some antivirus programs), or add the app to exceptions.

I have Overwolf/Rivatuner/etc installed on my computer.
If you have any game overlays - disable it.

User Permissions command.
You may have a problem with permissions. So you should reset it to windows default.
Run command prompt as administrator and execute
secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose
to reset all folder permissions to the windows default and then restart the pc.

I have two video cards - discrete and built-in.
You need to open the AMD/Nvidia control panel and force which video adapter to use for playing FFXIV.

Nothing helps, can you help?
You can ask for help in the questions section. It is recommended that you attach a Log.txt file that is located at %LocalAppData%\TataruHelper in the folder with the latest version of the application (app-%number%).

Fps drops when using the app.
Make sure that you didn’t check the "Limit frame rate when client is inactive" checkbox in the game settings. System Configuration -> Display Settings -> Frame rate -> Limit frame rate when client is inactive. If so - uncheck this.

When will you release the patch?
As soon as possible. Be patient.

When will the translation/real-time translation work again?
As soon as possible. Be patient.

The app window is not displayed in the game.
Perhaps the game works in fullscreen. Change the display mode to borderless or windowed.

The settings reset every time you restart the app.
Try to delete UserSettingsNew.json here -> %LocalAppData%\TataruHelper

How to move chat windows?
You should uncheck the Click Through option. And just drag the window over the top border of the window.

How to change font color?
You can change it in the Translation Settings tab. Just click on the color box.

Hot to bind hotkeys?
You can bind hotkeys in the Behavior tab. You should use Ctrl/Shift/Alt + Any key or combination of Ctrl+Shift+Alt + Any key, etc. The key combinations must not be repeated. If you cannot assign a key, it is occupied by the application or system. Example: CTRL+Q, CTRL+ALT+R, SHIFT+ALT+CTRL+T, ALT+SHIFT+Y, SHIFT+CTRL+G, etc.

Can I backup config files?
Just backup UserSettingsNew.json file here -> %LocalAppData%\TataruHelper

How to translate your text to talk with foreigners?
Create a separate window and select translate /echo chat. You can write to /echo chat (/e message).

One-message delay?
A Make sure that you have Cutscenes/No delay option enabled. If it doesn’t help you - so there was a patch recently and we haven't had time to fix this feature yet.

Google/DeepL stopped working?
Due to the method we use, Google/DeepL may temporarily ban users. To avoid this, restart the app and use a VPN. Or just wait for about an hour.

The replica is translated twice/not translated.
This is a bug, don't pay attention to it.

How do I add a translation window to OBS?
This is currently unavailable. This functionality is planned in the future. You can capture the entire screen for now.
