== Description == runit-run is a package which replaces the SysV init scheme with one based on runit. (http://smarden.org/runit) == Usage == This package creates two run levels by default, /etc/runit/runsvdir/runit-run-default and /etc/runit/runsvdir/archlinux-default. Upon install it will link /etc/runit/runsvdir/default to runit-run-default, which will only start two getty's, tty2 and tty3. If you want the standard archlinux behavior, you are encouraged to copy the archlinux-default directory to one of your own naming (perhaps by hostname). cp -a /etc/runit/runsvdir/archlinux-default/ /etc/runit/runsvdir/your_hostname Then to try this runlevel, stop cron and syslog ng and runsvchdir your_hostname If all looks well, you can make this the new default runlevel with ln -sf /etc/runit/runsvdir/your_hostname /etc/runit/runsvdir/default Runit does not restrict the number of runlevels you can have, any directory in /etc/runit/runsvdir/ can be used as a runlevel, with runsvchdir <thedirectory> doing the changing. On boot whatever runlevel 'default' is linked to will boot, unless you use a modified kernel command line, runit only cares about the very last word of the kernel command line, if it matches a directory in /etc/runit/runsvdir, that runlevel will boot instead. == Support == You can find Death_Syn or bougyman in #archlinux on freenode.
