maybe a workaround would be to move the edit button to the left of the date and do the same as we do for long comments now, just cut them off but idk if its good enough

I feel that having the edit button on the left is Something wrong, so I would suggest specifying overflow-x: hidden

It would be nice to be able to see the details of a string when you click on it.
