Where can I find the version number of these tables? #231
Comments
@bouweandela We are in the process of revamping support for obs4MIPs (https://pcmdi.github.io/obs4MIPs). Version control of the tables on this repo will be provided soon - we will let you know when it has been established. |
Thanks! |
I see from the new documentation that you're planning to create a GitHub repository with the scripts used to CMORize the data. Is this something you already have and plan to make public? In the ESMValTool repository, we also have a large collection of CMORizer scripts and a small framework around them to download the data and then CMORize it. The list of currently supported datasets is available here and we also have instructions on using the scripts and contributing a new script. We are currently in contact with @glpotter from the CREATE-IP project and he is quite enthusiastic about using those scripts instead of maintaining his own collection. Would the obs4MIPs project also be interested in collaboratively building CMORizer scripts? It seems a waste of effort if we are all separately developing these scripts. We are not particularly attached to having them in the ESMValTool repository, we could come up with a common design and try to merge the existing effort in a new repository. |
@bouweandela What you are suggesting, collaboratively building CMORizer scripts for observations, is an important part of what we are trying to accomplish with obs4MIPs. If we can make that happen it would be an important contribution to the research community and all related efforts. |
I noticed that the last release of these tables (v2.0.0) was made in 2017, but it looks like the tables are regularly updated. Are these tables versioned? If yes, where can I find the version number?
