You may like the scripts we've build in percona-qa, which can setup environments fast.

To do so;

 (PS example using startup.sh including building latest PS, though you could use a tarball from Jenkins or ~/percona-qa/get_download_link.sh to );

cd ~
git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/Percona-QA/percona-qa.git
cd /<some_workdir_you_will_use>    # Change to your workdir
wget $(~/percona-qa//get_download_link.sh --product=ps --version=5.7 --arch=x86_64)
tar -xf Percona-Server-5.7.23-25-Linux.x86_64.ssl100.tar.gz
cd Percona-Server-5.7.23-25-Linux.x86_64.ssl100
~/percona-qa/startup.sh
./all
# you can also use ./start ./cl ./stop ./all (wipes everything) etc.

To build latest PS, you can use;

sudo mkdir /git && sudo chmod -R 777 /git && sudo chown -R $(whoami):$(whoami) /git && cd /git && git init
rm -Rf PS-5.7-trunk; git clone --recursive --depth=1 https://github.com/percona/percona-server.git -b 5.7 PS-5.7-trunk 
cd PS-5.7-trunk
~/percona-qa/build_psms_debug.sh 
cd ../<just_build_directory>/   # Or move that directory somewhere else (like to homedir for example) then cd into it

The startup.sh script can also setup group replication.

There is also a similar pxc startup script (ref ~/percona-qa/pxc-tests/*start*.sh), and a mongo startup script (~/percona-qa/mongo_startup.sh)
