Wow- this is comprehensive and great. I read through everything, and really can't think of any improvements, even from a copy editing standpoint.
One takeaway is that this really reinforces the need for finishing the API parameter docs, so that remains high on the list!

This was something I had started a few months back but never finished which is why some commits are dated May 2023. I thought that since the API repo has issue templates I'd create some for the HA repo.
Do you want to remove the automatic locking action removed from this repo as well? It was removed from the API repo but not from this one but I can remove it in the PR if you'd like.
Also when creating this PR I had initially setup dependabot to keep dependencies up to date but I removed it since there isn't really a lot of dependencies in this repo. It could still be good to keep the stale action updated?
