Assembling the assets automatically in Blender

ZeroGravitas edited this page Oct 26, 2021 · 7 revisions

With the tools currently available, we can assemble and texture characters (both Player Characters and NPCs) automatically by importing data produced by TORCommunity.com's Character Designer and by the 3D Viewer available in most of that website's SWTOR database. You can check the Locating Characters' Assets Automatically guide.

As for other assets such as weapons, vehicles, and environments, we have no automatic solutions yet. Locating the weapons and vehicles' assets is fairly doable, so, that's something that could be attempted to automate once some other projects are finished. Auto-assembling whole environments is far more involved, but it has been done (as a datamining tool, actually), so, we hope to have a solution in the medium-term.
