slowdown with lethal company even if running the "vanilla settings"

Just by using the mod there is a fairly big performance hit. Even if I set all the configuration settings to "vanilla", i'm still seeing maybe a 20fps loss over not using the mod at all. (from vsync'd 144fps to 125-130)

I would expect to see no change in framerate with this mod at vanilla game settings. Perhaps some settings are not exposed, or there's some other inherent problem
