So we can easily import dumps from production, and to generally have a local environment more closely resembling production.

What about ignoring database.yml and adding a database.example.yml or creating the postgresql options in another key instead of default?

Hopefully this doesn't interrupt anyone's local dev environments too much currently. You can always change the
database.ymlfile back to sqlite.
