Bee Aggression & Behaviors π
Note: Short summaries of Protection of the Hive and Wrath of the Hive effect info is also in the Status Effect section as well for quick reference.
-
π‘οΈ Bees can be fed Sugar Water Bottles and various honey based foods (like Honey bottles) to heal them and have a chance of giving you Protection of the Hive effect (even if the bees are angry, you can still feed them.) You can feed Honeycomb Brood Blocks as well for a chance of getting Protection effect!
Search
$the_bumblezone:bee_feedable_items
in JEI and REI to see all feedable items in-game! EMI search requires#the_bumblezone:bee_feedable_items
. You can add or remove items that can be fed to bees by overriding the the_bumblezone:bee_feedable_items tags.-
Feeding bees a Sugar Water Bottle has a 10% of granting you Protection of the Hive effect.
-
Feeding the bee a Honey Bottle, Bee Bread, or any food with "honey" in name has a 30% chance of granting you Protection of the Hive effect.
-
Feeding a bee a Honey Bucket will fully heal the bee and put it and nearby bees into love mode (along with 80% chance of granting you Protection of the Hive effect) Feeding the Honey Bucket to a child bee will fully heal it and have a chance of growing it into an adult bee.
-
Royal Jelly Bottle and Bucket also fully heals bees, grows baby bees into adults, and will always grant you Protection of the Hive effect.
-
Any other food that is tagged for bee-feeding but does not have "honey" in name will have 10% chance of giving protection.
-
-
π‘οΈ When you have Protection of the Hive effect, nearby Bees will attack anyone who attacked you!
- Will also calm any bees that were angry at you and will cure you of Wrath of the Hive.
-
π’ Any mob or player damaging a Bee or Bee Queen in The Bumblezone dimension will get Wrath of the Hive effect and a bunch of angry bees coming after them. Same for destroying a Honeycomb Brood Block without Silk touch. (Hurting Beehemoth does not give Wrath unless changed by config)
- π‘οΈ If player has Protection of the Hive, the protection effect is lost and will prevent player from getting Wrath of the Hive for their action. A one time buffer against accidentally hurting bees
-
π’ Mining translucent Honey Blocks or taking honey from a Filled Porous Honeycomb Block (by using a Glass Bottle on it) will give you Wrath of the Hive effect. Entering a Cell Maze structure will give you the effect as well.
-
π‘οΈ If you have Protection of the Hive effect (limited time effect) or consumed an Essence of the Bees item (permanent effect), you will no longer get the wrath effect from the 3 triggers mentioned above! Protection of the Hive effect will stay on. (Essence of the Bees item info can be found in Item section)
-
π‘οΈ (1.20+) Wearing Flower Headwear will prevent Cell maze from giving you Wrath of the Hive effect! This item will also make Wrath of the Hive effect from other sources wear off faster!
-
- π’ Having Wrath of the Hive will turn the dimension's fog red, play Flight of the Bumblebee by Rimsky Korsakov, make nearby Honeycomb Brood Blocks grow and spawn bees much faster, and the dimension will spawn even more Bees nearby to hunt you down! Grab your Bane of Arthropod sword!
-
π’ Any arthropod mob without "bee" in the name, any pandas, and any bears will get a weak version of Wrath of the Hive and nearby Bees will attack them in The Bumblezone dimension. Many modded beetles, spiders, dragonflies, and bears will be affected. This can be changed by editing or overriding these entity tag files by datapack:
- β Right clicking a pollinated bee while holding Water Bottle, Sugar Water Bottle, Water Bucket, or Wet Sponge will unpollinated the bee and drops a Pollen Puff item. (Should work with modded bees too)
- β While holding a Bee Stinger item, right clicking a bee without a stinger will put a stinger onto the bee! (Should work with modded bees too)
