Welcome

You've found your way to the GooeysQuests wiki. This is a player guide for showcasing features and showing new players how to get started.

Getting started

The first thing you should do is make sure you have the GooeysQuests module downloaded. You can do this through the in-game interface. Open Terasology, click "Single Player" then click "Create" to make a new world. Next, click the "Modules" button. On the bottom left side of the resulting screen, make sure "Local Only" is not checked. You can then find "GooeysQuests" in the module list and click the download button. Here is a screenshot of what it should look like:

Meeting Gooey

Gooey is the character that is spawned in-game to create the structures and quests for you to explore. As soon as you spawn you should see some square purple particles. If you don't see Gooey immediately, just turn in a circle. He always spawns very close to you. Gooey, however, will not spawn if your world generator doesn't have suffieciently large mountains. The Perlin world generator works fanstastically.

Getting a Quest/Structure

Getting Gooey to create a structure is very easy. All you have to do is walk up to him, aim your mouse at him and press "e". This will open a screen where he can offer to make certain structures. He will ask if you want either a Dungeon added to the world or a Dwarf Hall. If you want the one he is not offering, wait for a couple minutes or walk 20-40 blocks away and he will respawn, hopefully with the option you would like. Below are two screenshots showing the Dwarf Halls screen as well as the Dungeon screen.

Features of the Dungeon

The Dungeon is a series of rooms connected by hallways. These rooms can have chests with loot in them. Each Dungeon will be slightly different because they are composed of multiple pieces then put together by an algorithm. Here are some of the features of the Dungeon:

  • Dungeon Entrance

This is what the entrance to the Dungeon that Gooey makes will look like.

  • Lava Hallways

This hallway is a little trap for overeager adventurerers

  • Trap Hallways - These hallways appear exactly like normal hallways (hence the absence of a screenshot) but when you walk into them, the floor is a hologram so you fall right through!

  • Rifts - Rifts are large cutouts from the hallway that are deep enough to kill a player and wide enough that you can't jump across

Rift

  • Town Buildings - Town Buildings are large rooms that are like mini-dungeons in the sense that they are made up of little parts and put together by an algorithm so they all aren't the same. On the front left we have a Smelter. In the back on the left there is a Shop. The large building on the right is an Inn.

Features of the Dwarf Halls

The Dwarf Halls consist of a staircase that leads down into a main room which holds the entrances to other rooms, in contrast to the Dungeon which is hallway connected. Here are the main features of the Dwarf Halls.

  • Dwarf Hall Entrance - As soon as you enter the Dwarf Hall, you step into a large descending stairwell. This brings you down to a large cavernous hall that has paths to the different rooms you can explore.

  • Chest Room - Exactly what it sounds like. A long staircase leading to a room with a chest that has loot in it.

  • Gladiator Arena - A Gladiator Arena is a pit surrounded by bleachers. The front and back of the pit have doors to hide contestants in before the match. Because what do dwarves like better than a good ole Gladiator fight?

Note

GooeysQuests is a Work In Process, meaning there's new content being added all the time! If you update the module frequently, you'll get to see all the new content as soon as it is released!
