Add 2 checkboxes in the properties of this mod — "Classic" and "Platformer" that would toggle this mod only for modes you need.
I personally find it very convinient for Classic Mode but unconvinient for Platformer.

Also when I was writing this another idea came to my mind — ability to change Countdown time separately for Classic and Platformer mode.
