Singular

Post types: Post, Page, other custom post types without a unique template available

Singular template examples on desktop and mobile screens

The default template for "singular" posts--posts, pages, and any other custom post type that doesn't have its own template available.

This template wraps post content within a container to enforce a maximum page width. If your page/post content needs to include any full-width content, you should use the fullscreen template instead.

Fullscreen

Post types: Post, Page

Fullscreen template examples on desktop and mobile screens

Unlike the default singular template, the fullscreen template does not wrap its contents in an outer container--allowing page content to span the full width of the screen with no gutters.

This template is best suited for pages/posts that include full-width sections, spotlights, or any other content that needs to span the full width of the browser. Containers, rows and columns are expected to be controlled manually in the page markup.

Narrow

Post types: Post, Page

Narrow template examples on desktop and mobile screens

This template wraps post content within a container and narrow, centered column at the -lg breakpoint and above. At the -md breakpoint and lower, the content spans the width of the outer container for readability.

This template is best suited for text-heavy content, such as news articles or blog posts, that doesn't include full-width content.

UCF Section

Post types: Section

This template provides a preview of what a section post would look like when included on a page using the [ucf-section] shortcode.

This template is only intended for internal use; we recommend not linking to individual sections and blocking indexing of these posts using a SEO plugin such as Yoast SEO.

Requires the UCF Section plugin.

UCF Spotlight

Post types: Spotlight

This template provides a preview of what a spotlight post would look like when included on a page using the [ucf-spotlight] shortcode.

When viewing a "vertical" or "square" spotlight, the spotlight is contained within an outer container. If a "horizontal" spotlight is being viewed, no container is used (the spotlight will span the full width of the browser).

This template is only intended for internal use; we recommend not linking to individual spotlights and blocking indexing of these posts using a SEO plugin such as Yoast SEO.

Requires the UCF Spotlights plugin.

Index (fallback)

Post types: n/a

The absolute fallback template (generic blogroll) for all site content. You'll see this template in use when you activate this theme on a site without a static front page set, but generally speaking, this template should never be used.

404

Post types: n/a

404 examples on desktop and mobile screens

The custom "not found" template provided by this theme. You'll only see this when WordPress returns a 404.

The 404 template can be modified without a child theme by creating a page with the title "404" and adding your custom 404 content to that page. The template is designed to detect a page named "404" and use its contents if available.
