Install Redis Cluster

Machines

Pre-requisites

  • Install tcl
# tcl.x86_64 1:8.5.13-8.el7 to support make test
yum install tcl

Installation

On each node:

tar xzvf redis-5.0.7.tar.gz
cd redis-5.0.7
make
make test
make install

[root@aiden-master redis-5.0.7]# make test
  ...
  99 seconds - integration/replication-psync
  132 seconds - integration/replication

\o/ All tests passed without errors!

Cleanup: may take some time... OK
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/redis-5.0.7/src'

Configuration

on each node:

  • master
mkdir -p /root/redis/6379
vi /root/redis/6379/redis.conf

content as below:

requirepass myredis
masterauth myredis
port 6379
cluster-enabled yes
cluster-config-file nodes.conf
cluster-node-timeout 5000
appendonly yes
  • slave (replica)
mkdir -p /root/redis/6380
vi /root/redis/6380/redis.conf

content as below:

requirepass myredis
masterauth myredis
port 6380
cluster-enabled yes
cluster-config-file nodes.conf
cluster-node-timeout 5000
appendonly yes

Start

Start redis on each node

cd /root/redis/6379
redis-server redis.conf

cd /root/redis/6380
redis-server redis.conf

Start log

Create cluster

On master

redis-cli --cluster create 192.168.56.150:6379 192.168.56.151:6379 192.168.56.152:6379 \
192.168.56.150:6380 192.168.56.151:6380 192.168.56.152:6380 \
--cluster-replicas 1 -a myredis

Check

  • check nodes

  • Check failover

Manually stop 192.168.56.151:6379, then run cluster nodes again, now 152:6380 become master
