open_datatree is taking to loong #12

I am trying to open a radar datatree created with raw2zarr package and, it is taking too long

from xarray.backends.api import open_datatree
path = "/data/scratch/a/alfonso8/Carimagua.zarr"
dtree = xr.backends.api.open_datatree(
    path, 
    engine='zarr', 
    consolidated=True,
    chunks={}
)

The total time was 4 min and 26 secs. This could be related to the Zarr-appending mode we are trying to implement, and could be related to this issue
