Introduction to R applied to statistics and econometrics
This repository contains a set of notebooks for an introductory course in R-studio applied to Statistics and Econometrics.
They cover:
- a primer into R (Installation, Data structures, Flow Control, Functions, Integration and Optimization, Data manipulation and visualization)
- descriptive statistics
- discrete and continuous random variables (binomial and poisson r.v., exponential and normal r.v.)
- examples of sampling theories (Central limit thoerem, Law of large number)
- confidence intervals and hypothesis testing
- linear regression and OLS
These lecture notes are used for a 10 1-hour student Engagement Lectures in Quantitative Economics/Method and Mathematical Economics at the University of Nottingham (UoN)
